After an intensive competitive selection in 2018, the County of Santa Clara chose Bilingva as its language services vendor. Several years and a renewal later, we are still the county’s partner — and, with an office in San Jose, its local one.

Interpreting and translation across the county

Santa Clara County is one of the most linguistically diverse counties in California, and its residents deserve access to government in their own language. Working through the county’s Language Access Unit, Bilingva provides interpreting and translation across departments — including Health & Human Services, the Board of Supervisors, and Environmental Services — and supplies certified, security-cleared interpreters for the Sheriff’s Department.

Every core language — and the rare ones on demand

We cover the county’s core languages — Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Filipino (Tagalog), and Russian — every day, and we source the rare ones on demand, from Arabic and Tigrinya to Samoan and beyond. Because we maintain a database of local interpreters who understand the county’s communities, we can turn around urgent requests quickly — the kind of language-access responsiveness a distant national vendor can’t match.

A partnership that keeps growing

What began as a county contract has expanded across Santa Clara’s public institutions. The City of San Jose now uses Bilingva under the same contract through its own request channel; the county’s libraries call on us; and First 5 Santa Clara County recently joined the family of local government organizations that rely on our services. As the county’s only truly local language partner, we grow with the community we serve.

Serving a diverse community and need a responsive, in-region language partner? Bilingva provides interpreting, certified translation, and equipment in 200 languages for California government agencies. WOSB-certified, SAM.gov registered, serving the public sector since 2005.
